Peter Beales Roses has launched the BBC 'The One Show 20th Rose' at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the BBC's flagship evening programme, The One Show.
This new floribunda rose has been specially bred by the Peter Beales Roses breeding team to commemorate two decades of the British television programme. Combining beauty, resilience, and outstanding garden performance, the rose also supports an important charitable cause, with a £5 donation from every rose sold being made to BBC Children in Need.
Developed over ten years through extensive trials and careful selection, BBC 'The One Show 20th Rose' forms a neat, compact shrub with glossy green foliage and excellent disease resistance. The medium-sized blooms appear in generous clusters throughout the summer and into autumn, creating a near continuous display of warm coral-pink flowers with deeper rose edging and glowing golden centres.
The lightly cupped, softly ruffled blooms are rich in charm and highly attractive to bees and pollinators, while a delicate, fresh fragrance makes the rose ideal for borders, containers, and close planting near seating areas and pathways.
Standing approximately 90cm x 90cm (3ft x 3ft), the variety combines reliable repeat flowering with strong garden health and versatility, performing well even in partial shade.
Speaking about the launch, Ian Limmer, Senior Rosarian said: "We are incredibly proud to introduce BBC 'The One Show 20th Rose' at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026. This rose represents not only the very best of British rose breeding, but also a meaningful partnership supporting the wonderful work of BBC Children in Need. We hope gardeners across the country will enjoy growing this beautiful rose for many years to come."
